Possible stupid question about 312mm brake upgrade - pads!

Got all my bits and pieces to go ahead with the 312mm brake upgrade, thanks to a couple of folk on here! Basically I've got the calipers from Leon mk1 180/Golfmk4/TT, and some Ferodo pads. I'm just wondering if I have the correct pads, they are the right size but one of each set of pads has the small metal clip attatched to the back surface, as well as two small raised "nipples", I presume this pad goes on the caliper, on the opposite side to the piston, however it just won't sit flush due to the raised parts. Am I making sense? Anybody know what I'm talking about? Cheers!

can you get pics up? i know the pads are a git to get in as the calliper is sprung loaded on the carrier. try removing the silver metal clip on the front of the calliper the fitting pads and then the clip

Cheers, yeah I'll try and get pics up when I'm home. Everything is seperate at the moment, should be the right bits, but just couldn't really get it to fit together in a "dry run"
