Possible alloy change !!

Ello folks!

Ive been thinkin about changing my alloys latey. I love the look of them (ive got 17" wolfrace street octane's btw if u didnt know) but id like something alot lighter.

Obviously goin for lightweight alloys will improve handling/braking through reduced rolling intertia/faster acceleration/sharper steering etc etc

So has any1 on here got light weight alloys? what do u think of them ?

I think most alloys are around 12kg each, also seen some carbon fiber wheels that weight in at 6.35kg each !!

thoughts and feed back would be great !!
cheers Bunnin

go back to standard wheels and the street sleeper look! ive not seen any light weight wheels tbh but do you think it will actually make a noticable difference to acceleration time and handling on the road?

sorry my bad,
do the light-weights really make that much differance tho i know wheen i put one steelie spare on i did notice it made a slight differance. i suppose all 4 wheels would be a more pronounce effect:shrug:

The way I see it, just doing the alloys won't alter your perception. But do the seats as well and you've the possibility of saving 100+kg which would be noticeable.

Am I right in thinking the seats weigh 50kgs each? You can get racing buckets that weigh 4kg each. No point in getting rid of the back seats as mine get used, and if the rear bench is anything like my old Impreza, it will weigh bugger all anyway.

Also considering decatting it.

I'm a bit obsessed with reducing weight (must go on that diet  ) cos it not only benefits acceleration/handling, but also fuel consumption.

The rear seats in the mk4 weigh an absolute tonne, and it does imho make a noticeable difference with them out.

if they are re-enforced ones for side impact crashes ect then they weigh a tonne!! and doesnt suprise me it make a diffrence gotta have the back seats tho;)

 nah you dont matey, i have a rear strut brace for 2 reasons  ones for handling, and the other is for grabbing on to when being naughty with females
