Positive Deviation: PROBLEM FIXED! :)

Hey, Just thought i would post up to say I have fixed my postive deviation problem finally thanks to the help of Simon_L on here who kindly did some logging on vag-com for me last night. As it turns out my brand new MAF from Seat was faulty and overreading, causing limp mode if you rev'd in any gear past say 5500rpm. It was so frustrating, but there we are easy fix afterall.

Did manage to leave a celica vvti in my smoke in the process aswell who was being an knob sitting up my arse, once i swapped back to my old MAF.

Well chuffed now! :D

The MAF figures from both were near identical.

I had the same issue with a brand new MAF. Swaped it back for the old one and the car ran fine. Suggested this last night and it worked.

The Celica was amusing, did a u turn on a roundabout, Spud stuck it in 4th and i was logging in the passenger seat. Engine was spooling up and the Celica was full on going for it. Once the turbo spooled up we were away, very very amusing :)

MAF made around 180g/s, and the boost peaked at ~17psi. From the MAF readings i reckon its around 240bhp, and 230lbft. Inlet temps were mid 20's too. FMIC working very well!

Yours does'nt sound like a problem, sounds fairly normal. Mine went well, but got to around 5500rpm and it more or less spluttered, and put me into Limp mode e.g. no boost and very very flat power/response/anything.

The celica thing was very funny, whats even funnier was we were'nt racing, we were 'logging'.

Hello mate,

I think thats my old car you have there. I would be surprised if it is 228bhp unless someone has stuck a K03's on it. When it was mine it was about 200bhp plus or minus a couple.

Good car that was.

Mark.
