hi,

Been offered some porsche brakes quite cheap.. full set up.. Looking into it i think the porsche 4 pots are off a old porsche 911 or simular. The old wide boy shape. So talking late 80's early 90's.

Does it matter that the calipers are that old? any things i should be looking for etc. Dont want to get them and then the stoppin power is like half as good as say a new set of brembos.

Not really sure how the hole brake age works. What you had to maintain on them or anything.

Any help much appreciated.

Cheers.

Are they a monoblock caliper? I'm not sure they will be... Even so they'll still be very good.

Get some pics up if you can?

Just check with Porsche before stripping them for a rebuild. As if my memory serves me right some parts are hard to come buy.. For peace of mind I would get some seals and rebuild them

I used to work for Porsche and drove several old lairy 930's with 500bhp and yes if the brakes pull that up then they shouldn't have any issue stopping your SEAT!
