Plzz HELP!! MOT failure :( - 35mm Lowering Springs!

Had me car about a month now and took it in for MOT this week ('95 beeza 2.0 gti), failed on a quite a bit, chassis welding, brake pipe corroded, front lower arm bush worn, track rod end and the most puzzling of all front springs!!

Car is currently fitted with a set of Apex 35mm lowering springs on standard shocks (not ideal setup but will have 2 do for now) and when car is jacked up you can turn the springs all the way around which is obviously an MOT failure!

Has anyone else faced this problem and managed to rectify? If so i would be grateful for your advice/fix.

Someone may have to correct me but if you put shorter springs on standard shocks this is bound to happen as the shock is longer than the spring so at full extension the spring isn't properly seated on the shock and can move about.

Only way you can rectify this is to buy some proper lowered (shorter) shocks or put ur old ones back in for now.

I'm guessing it is the same as when a spring snaps? That's speed bumps for you.

i've had lowered springs fitted on all my other cars (non-seat) and never have come across this problem before. I lowered my old nova (god that brings back memories lol) 60mm on standard shocks and needed spring clamps to fit them!!

cable tie the springs to the struts, seemed to pass with my mates car when he did it, other wise its going to be standard springs for a few days then back to lowering springs.

Mine are the same but the above has never done me wrong
