I'm a qualified plastic welder mate, my advice would be to fibreglass [filler type not matt] them then fill over the top.

Plastic welding rods are only thin you would need to build them up to fill the holes.....you'd use a lot of rods to.

If you don't fancy fibreglassing them then put a plastic bonding agent in and fill over the top.

Both these methods would be a hell of a lot easier, quicker, cheaper and would not cause any heat distortion :)

thanks for the advice mate, im new to this kind of stuff, so if u dont mind i got a couple more q's!!..

The last time i fiberglassed i used the "webbing", layed on the resin and waited for each layer to dy. is that the way to do it??

and secondly do i literaly cut the "webbing" to the exact shape of the hole and then resin it in there!

Thanks for the advice again!!

Nah you don't have to mess about with the mesh mate you can just use the fibreglass filler paste that comes in a tin [Halfords etc] just mix it with hardner and its ready to be put in.

The most important thing is to key the area up so that the fibreglass gets a good hold, use 80 grit paper for this.

Make sure you push it in the grooves so that you don't have big air pockets etc

You shouldn't need to sand the fibreglass down as remember your only actually using it to fill the recess up enough so you can put a light skim of plastic filler over the top.

Make sure you use a decent plastic filler, even tho some say there universal there gonna be pretty rubbish.........My advice is to use 'Top stop gold' think its made by upol.

Hope this helps.

Just came across somthing!, theres a few places where there are inch long gaps / holes that will need somthing behind to fiberglass! What would be the best way to get around that? and what brand of fiberglass would you reccomend ;)

Cheerse again!

No problem.....You could use the fibreglass matt and resin on the back like you did before.............or you could just put a bit of carpet tape on back of the whole to stop it coming through.

The fibreglass matt would take more time and effort but you could get away with the tape as the fibreglass paste is very thick and will not seep through the holes........once its set it wont be going anywhere just make sure you give the bumper a good key first.

I tend to use U-pol products and never had any problems.
