Hi,

I posted this on another forum but It should of been in this one!

I have just brought mu new car and I have changed the stereo to a Pioneer and everything went OK but when the ignition is turned off it loses all the settings!

I can't find any other cables but Its like its not getting a feed from the battery when the engine is off.

Am I being stupid and missing something obvious???

Thanks

Ray

Most stereo's these days, definately Pioneers ones (as I have one) have the two power wires (red and yellow) on the harness bullet connected, just dis-connect them, and connect the red to yellow and yellow to red, sorted !!

They do it for this just reason, as some cars have the power feeds wired different.

Hope this helps.

Ok thanks, Sorry to sound stupid but do you mean just pull the wires out of the block connector?

The wiring harness you got with the stereo, i.e. the one that connects the connectors already in your car to the stereo, this harness has two sockets that connect to the wires already there, they look the same, but one houses the speaker wires, and the other houses the power, earth, remote, arial etc wires. Its this power one you need. Take the stereo out again, then you will see the bullet connected red and yellow wires on the power connector, just swap them over, its dead easy, trust me.
