Anybody got one of these headunits? Was going to keep my Aura headunit but think Ipod connectivity is the way forward, quite liked the look of this headunit as it seems feature packed but nowhere near as "showy" as the Alpine headunits with similar features, or anybody got any other reccomendations??

Hi m8,

I have recently bought the Pioneer DEH-5000UB as it was more within my budget of £100 and I liked the fact you can customise the button colours and the display colours to match or contrast the cars interior. I have a zen so not fussed about the ipod connectivity. But what I have done which works very well is stick an 8GB SD card filled with mp3 files onto the rear USB out. This is wired into my glovebox so keeps it nicely out of sight but easy to pull out and change over. I liked this idea because I can just leave it in the car and forget about it, and if it did get stolen it's no great loss to buy another SD card. You can use the HU display to scroll through folders, songs etc and even only 8GB is still quite a lot of music although you could increase this capacity considerably.

yep,thats wot i put in mine:p

Ive seen the Alpine x-1000 has good reviews on here to but I personally dont like how it looks, I like that it has a colour screen but it has that huge button sticking out of it and im not sure how that would look, maybe it looks better fitted than it does on a wall!

Does sound good! But also seen that Alpine do the x001 (different to the x100) looks a little less flashy and more stylish than the x100, now my desicion has just git harder!

Telford ay it...
The P700BT is a cracking unit, loads of nice features including the ace BT. Bought one for my ibiza a month or so back, difficult to use at first but you get the hang of it.

the Pioneer integrated bluetooth feature is one of the best around...the quality of mine is superb, both my side and the callers side, and you don't need to be shouting down the mic as some built-in systems require

yes it is one of the new gen models. here you can find the latest models (you may need to select bluetooth from the options) http://www.pioneer.co.uk/uk/products/25/121/61/overview.html

just try to keep phone away from unit as much as possible, you can get bad quality if too close.

i don't get this problem...the closest the phone gets to my hu is the ash-tray unit just in front of the gear knob
