picked up new car and... strange smell

well.. i picked up the new car 2nite.. (1.820VT) and on the drive home (quite a long drive.. 150 miles) when i was nearing home.. it started to smell like fumes in the car.. anyone any ideas what this could be? i looked around the enging with it still running.. and couldnt smell it there.. or see any blue smoke etc.. so im at a loss having only just got the car.. soo...

any help wud be much appreciated.. thanks!

Have had the same thing in my LCR 210 (03).

Almost seems completely random. Some days the smell is there, others it isn't.

I looked it up here when I first had the problem and people suggested pin holes in pipe work might be the cause.

I have had two different tuning shops look at mine now, and neither can see any issues with the pipe work or connectors.

Let me know if you get anywhere with this as I would be interested in finding a solution.

Not 100% sure, but I think I've heard of people talking about the manifold bolts working loose on certain models of Leons and causing leaks - the tell tale sign being a fumey smell in the cabin.

As said, not 100% about this - I spend a lot of time in the Ibiza section too - so it could have been there I read it...
