After joining this wonderful website, lol, and posting a Newbie thread someone sent me a message asking me if i wanted to buy some bits from him.

So my first mods were had, a Green Dynatwist air filter and a Seat/MOMO strut brace, both for 90 quid. Bargain, and he lived in Bridgend which is about 30 mins away.

When i first put the Dynatwist on i could hear massive amounts of wastegate chatter, not good, which means the DV was knackered, so it was time to replace it. So up pops one of the boys saying he's got one 'kicking about', 40 quid later and i have a lovely, almost knew Forge 007p re-cirv valve.

Now i can hear a little bit of the air venting from the turbo, which sounds a little like a blow off valve but not too loud. But running only 7psi i wasnt going to hear much. Throttle response was up and it seemed to hold boost a little longer as the old one was probably leaking boost.

Next mod up was some gauges in a lovely Nomad Racing A Pilar. This again came courtesy of Mike who used to run AM motorsport in cardiff. The gauges are also made by nomad, 30psi boost and oil pressure and are back lit blue.

After looking at the car up on the ramps i knew i needed a knew exhaust sooner or later, from seeing some rust build up to how bad the actual design was, narrowing loads to get over the rear beam etc...

So i got on the phone and ordered a 2.5" stainless steel cat back system from Supersprint. After waiting a month for it to arrive i got myself up to my mates garage to fit it on the ramps.

Lovely build quality and looks, sounds pretty good too.

Remap time. :D

I chose to go for Revo, which Westec offered the. With revo they also offer a 5 hour driving time trial, upload the softrware and basically go rag your car for 5 hours. Brilliant. After having a go at the trial whilst having a service done, i'd made up my mind, so it took me a grand total of 4 weeks to get the full software. lol.

The differance is unreal. Boosts on anything up to 23 psi and keep pulling and pulling in all gears.

This is a graph of the remapped cupra, remember this was when Westec had only just had the rollers and my car hadnt fully adapted to the map(and was run in 3rd)...

After the rolling road results it became clear to what the next mod would have to be, a FMIC. On the ibiza it has a notriously small side mounted intercooler so decent FMIC would mean it would stay cool and run to its full potential.

Below is a pic of a comparison of intercoolers...

You can see the caps on in this pic...

I also ditched the nasty fried egg indicator bulbs for some silvatec ones and replaced all standard bulbs ready for the winter with Philips Bluevision sidelights and headlights and Bosch Super full beam.

Also added a Samco mk4 golf TIP as the Forge version wasnt about at this time, which later i found had been ****ed up by Westec as they cut the bottom hose too short...
