just got my car bk from having new anti roll bar and bushes on warranty and asked the dealer to check why the engine light was on(again).they said the light was on due to my k&n and they can change anything due to this.[:@]
Anyway it seems the light is now gone and the car is running almost perfect!they insist they havent changed anything apart from a r bar & bushes....weird!!! anyone suffered such a blessing??!!

Probably just looked at the faults, saw one about air filter and decided that your K&N was the reason, and then pressed the "Clear Faults" button to put the light out.

Some faults are "Intermittent" and will clear themselves after a while. (At least my clutch switch fault would disappear after a while)

If there is still a fault it will come back on. I had a fault that the dealer couldnt find, they kept resetting the ecu and the light would come back on after a period of time ( was generally after a day or overnight ).

If it helps my fault turned out just to be a dodgy wiring loom behind the dash. The dealer changed the ECU, various sensors etc, also tried to blame my cd player as it wasnt seat approved! They kept plugging it in to the daft we laptop that they have which always told them nothing was wrong!! So might be something simple. Keep your chin up!
