hi, im gettin a new car in the near future and i've always liked the lcr (in yellow) but was put off by the performance compared to a scooby which is on my list of maybes! but i like somethin a little different like the lcr, i've been doin a little searchin on the internet and like the idea of a chipped lcr but really want to know the performance gain from a chip ie the 0-60 time, am i gonna be able to have a little fun with all but scoobys n evos? or could i be pushing these with a bhp increase of 265bhp?

cheers, andy

Well you must decide at the end of the day, but all I will say the LCR is so good to drive, grin after grin, and unlike the doo - the build quality is much better. My mate went to buy a brand new car, went to VAG showrooms, then went to Subaru. He did not spend more than 10 minutes looking, the build quality compared to VAG is crap. Just get a LCR 225 - you wont be sorry - promise!

When my LCR 210 was Revo Stage 1 I had a play with an STI on the A3. He just had the edge and was pulling away ever so slightly but it was pretty close

Now I'm Stage 2 I reckon I'd 'av im!!!

Like has been said 0-60 will not improve by much if any due to traction.

However once traction is not an issue say at 30-40mph on a dry road you'll be keeping up with scoobies no problem through the gears!

UK scoobies you should pass, import soobies are a bit more difficult though.

Why the fascination with 0-60 anyway? Isnt it a bit max powerish? About as much use as tits on a fish at determining a cars performance! A 120bhp lotus elise will do 60 in 5 secs but is not quick from 60 onwards for example!

Remapped you should annihalate a standard WRX from a rolling start. You should be there with the STI too. This is, of course on a straight road, as those Scoobs are rally cars built for the road. I raced an Evo on the motorway a few weeks back (Evo 6 or 7) and was glued to him to a silly speed. A few days later another Evo sat on my back bumper no matter how hard I pushed. Just get a Leon and get it mapped mate - get a Jabba remap. Ace car!

Hehe - I am a schizo, correct!

In short, this person quoted Mitchy's "Max Power" comment and then made a snide remark about his Nos system. It's been deleted now.

I remember playing with an sti and there was nothing in it, when I was REVO'd the lcr was quicker than a std wrx in a straight line simple power/weight ration.

thanks for the replys lads, like you say its not really the 0-60 that is the most important but the 30-70 n upwards it would be nice to know the 30-70 times for a chipped lcr and a sti just to compare

i live in the isle of man and dont know if you know but we dont have a national speed limit :D and on the mountain road (yes part of the TT course) you can easy do 120+

cheers again ;)
