The thing is I have a powerflow CAT back system and was goin to get a Milltek hi flow CAT but they tell me it won't bolt onto my powerflow!? Anyone know why? Or any that will?

cheers

The reason why powerflow won't bolt on because there s**t. No offecne ;)

Half decent exhaust should have interchangeble sections no matter what brand.

It shouldn't be for what I paid for it! ( beginning to think I've been ripped off!)

So is that a fact then? Are there any that will fit?

I have Milltek 100 cell race cat with Milltek stainless tailpipe and mid section.

Sounds good, performs OK, but as I had a load of mods done at once couldn't tell you how beneficial the cats were. Were required for the Revo Stg 2 mod I had so no option but to do it. Sound better than the OE qxhaust, but question the absolute gains. Still need a DP.

yep milltek 100cell, probably the powerflow is a smaller size . my milltek is 2.5 inch turbo back , and quite possibly theyre 1.8T systems are bigger , u could cut a reducer in , but that could impare the performance , then again if its far enough back gas speed should be slower so it might not be that bad

fidge, i got a milltek 200cell cat/dp as you probably remember..... It is a 2.5" bore IIRC, and my supersprint exhaust system (cat-back) is 2.25", which meant a reducer has to be made. My garage did this for me no problem and it looks and performs fine.
As said above tho, i got it all at same time as revo stage2, so couldnt tell performance-wise how much the cat affected it.

i had my 200-cell milltek cat and full system fitted first before any other mods. I reckon it has opened another 500rpm at the top and noticably improved the torque. Not the cheapest mod but i am extremely happy with it, plus it sounds nice.

I might pop to your garage and see what they can do for me! Isn't the 100 cell cat even less restrictive?

AFAIK Milltek discontinued the 100-Cell cat for the Golf IV/LC (same exhaust) as it had issues passing an MOT.

If your car doesn't need an MOT (ie too new), you might still be able to find shops with stock?

fidge, 100 cell cat is possible but like tallpaul said, i had heard rumours (only rumors) of them being borderline MOT pass.
However, Robdon said to me they should pass fine?

it'll depend on more than just the 100-cell cat as to whether it'll pass an MOT, but 'apparantly' some have failed.

Milltek only advertise one cat for the LC on their website. Off the shelf this is definatly 200-cell. They may be able to make a 100-cell to order?

Speak to http://icjperformance.co.uk/, they are keenly priced and were extremely helpfull when i bought mine.

I've passed 2 MOT's with the Milltek 3" 100-cell CAT downpipe without any problems, last year and this year, emmissions were within the allowed parameters. As long as the car is warmed up it should pass, if it's stone cold it might fail. My Milltek 3" goes into a 2.5" Supersprint race system with a single silencer - passed MOT no problem.

Star tested my emmissions before the MOT so we knew it would pass.
