performance air filter and MAF sensor

hi there just wondering if anybody could help me o anyone else had this issue!? PLEASE HELP
since i put a performance air filter on my ibiza cupra i have had to change 3 MAF sensors they run ok for bout a month and then they throw up a light usually saying its running too rich.
thinking it may have been the filter i have also changed 3 filters still no different i have a pipercross one on at the moment, tried a K n N and green thing.(and not been putting oily stuff on it cos i know oil ruins MAF)
i have brought a brand new one from seat which cost me over 80 quid and have tried the cheapo ebay jobby 40 quid either do the same any ideas and does any one know where i can get a bosch one for cheaper then 80 quid?

the green one you tried....was it a dynatwist in a metal container sort of thing? I've got that one and had no problems at all!

no it werent a dynotwist i dont think i got it off my brother just to try and he said it was a cheap one off ebay! so your air filter not caused your MAF to break no??? maybe its just a coincidence( i think thats how u spell it! lol )?

Did you bolt the air filters to the engine bay or leave them loose flapping around?

as it happens the first time i bolted it down, but when i been changing filters and MAFS i never bothered!! never thought bout it till now that you mentioned i
now!!
would that kill the sensors then??
