i've noticed that in 2nd gear my car will pull from 2-3,000 RPM very rapidly - needle almost jumps... it was also doing the same between 2,800 and 3,000 in 6th on the motorway
is this some kind of overboost kicking in, or have i got a problem somewhere?
It could be a sort of remap the car as have i heard with some remaps it is when you put your foot to the floor that you feel the difference, where as with lots of them its all the way though the power and gears. Has it been Remapped do you know. A mate of mine had a reamp and when he give it some (meaning to the floor) the car went crazy. but only when you put your foot to the floor.
when I had this issue last christmas it turned out to be clutch slip. New clutch and DMF resolved the issue.
At 3,700rpm in 5th if I booted it the revs would fly to 5,000rpm and although I'd keep moving forward it took a while for the clutch to settle and the car to continue accelerating. Colder it got, worse it got.
