Hi All,

Just bought a Mk2 Leon TDI 2.0 Sport. 29,000 miles, 4 yrs old (55 plate).

Noticed I seem to be getting quite a bit of clutch burn. How normal is this when being "aggressive"? Everything is stock.

I'm trying to work out if my driving position is wrong, I'm doing something wrong, or whether there is a fault with the clutch...

If clutch burn you mean clutch slip when the clutch starts to slip it will only get worse over time, the clutch is the main weak point on that engine set up. Might have been why the last owner sold the car. If you do need to fit a new clutch i would pay a bit extra and fit an uprated item as it will then last the life of the car.

Hello chap,

Doesn't appear to be slipping the clutch - performance pulling away is normal, clutch drops the revs when engaged with the parking brake on.

What I meant by clutch burn was you get the smell of it...
