pd130 power issues

ok, theres a hell of alot of lag and no real power for a second or so...and then the boost kicks in and it goes as per usual. Its only when you're really gunning it that it doesnt lag on each gear change. Its bin back to seat and on the diagnostics which showed up a faulty mass air flow sensor, which was changed...and still no joy. it has progressively deteriorated recently :(

Its booked in for a re-map next thursday. Im clueless at the minute, as is the garage (apparently). Any advice would be appreciated. thanks

Not sure about your fault/lack of power BUT if there is already a problem with the car i would strongly advise against a re-map untill the standard car is running fine.

The engineer came out and said it drives like any other hes driven, and that planting the foot chokes them at low revs. But i have noticed its got worse and have just been out in a friends fabia vrs and that is instant. Is there any differences?

What mileage do you have on the car?
If high or even if the car has previously had a tuning box type module fitted then it could be the vnt sticking in the exhaust side of the turbo. Mind you if this was the case you would have boost deviation faults stored in the ecu

I think I've got the same problem. (Thought it was my driving!) Only had the car since March this year and it's done 35k miles.

Have you got the problem sorted on yours?

Hi
I would say it could do with a FULL diagnostic check on it.
Not only do a vag com check but also do a drive check on MAF and as suggested check on the vac pipes

Hi Sarah

How much would it cost for you to carry this out?

My car needs servicing and as I will have to take a day's holiday to get it over to you I want to get as much done as possible (subject to costs!).

Also, not sure if you can answer this one, but if I have it serviced by yourselves and not a Seat dealer, will it effect any warranty claims I may have in the future? (Haven't yet read all the bumph that I got from the Dealers  )

Cheers

Could this be a sticky VNT mechanism? They could be crudded up so that it needs more air thru-put to make them move sufficiently?

Hi mate
Yes we can service the car and not invalidate any warranty at all.
We use filters that Seat agree to so you will be ok.
What service do you need.
We charge £45.00 + VAT for diagnostic , but if you still have warranty would you be better to get this seen to by a dealer?
This would save you some money....or am I doing myself out of a sale?
But I dont want to charge you for a diagnostic if you can get it for free.
