Thanks for quick reply.
I bought the car back in march as a non-runner with 2 bent con-rods. It had filled the sump with fuel and hydraulic locked. I fitted 2 new rods and pistons/rings, had the bores checked and honed and had the injectors checked. The check showed that all 4 injectors had been damaged by 'contaminated fuel' so 4 reconditioned injectors were fitted. I emptied and flushed the whole fuel system including the tandem pump (but never replaced it).
Since then the car has run fine with no issues for over 10k miles and i checked the oil religiously. It uses about half a litre of oil every 1k or so (reducing usage as it bedded in). I changed the oil after 10k (simple oil and filter change, nothing else) and next time i checked it oil level had risen, though i might have overfilled it so drained to correct level and checked after another 200 miles and it has risen again!
Obviously i thought i had cured the
problem when the injectors were changed but it has reappeared.
If it was the head cracked i can't understand how it was fine for 10k?
Tandem pump wasn't changed but was fine for 10k, where could diesel leak to sump in it anyway (through drive from cam??)??
Any thoughts and suggestions welcome, bill to fix last time was rather steep (bought it cheap as non-runner that time though!) and don't want a repeat.
P.S. local SEAT dealer have said they have seen 1 instance of tandem pump leaking into sump but i would like any ideas before shelling out £300 odd for a pump.
Cheers
