Ok - be quite honest here - As anyone cleaned a LCR after midnight when the wife is in bed.?? I tend to go over mine each night with a duster, to get surface grime off her. I have such a buzz in the morning, knowing the car is spotless! Am I going mad? Maybe I am but I love my 225 so much much! Am I nuts, my neighbours prob think I am!!

Mark.

I finished waxing mine at 11 O'Clock the other night - it was getting a bit hard to see. It did look really nice in the morning though :)

That is so funny, good on you...who cares if you love your car! Do you get in bed with her, wait till she nods off than sneak out and do it? Or are you just honest with her?

I wash mine either early morning or late evening as its a bugger when its blazing sunshine. The other night I was washing mine while packing up my neighbour gets his pressure washer out and starts cleaning his M3 at 22.30.

i used to be like that but i think you just grow out of it after you see the car get dirty so easily :( my black LCR just attracts the dirt, i usually wash her once a week, maybe twice depending how good the weather is

I've owned my LCR for 6 or 7 months now and have yet to wash it........ by hand anyway. :(

Since moving into my flat it's just easier to go by one of these jet-wash type places and hand over a few ££'s.

Have to confess to cleaning my previous cars at stupid o'clock tho. Used get them washed hoovered and polished and into the garage before the rain started. used to really bug me getting up for work the following morning to see it peeing down with rain.

Nice to see everyone's taking notice of the drought order banning the unnecessary use of water

i live in a pub, so we pay commercial rates. and i can't have a dirty car parked outside, what would the public think :-o

Well cheers for the replies guys. Its nice to know its not just me - and I am not nuts! BTW, I tend to polish late at night, this avoids my wife giving me grief for not cleaning her Focus ;)

Vicky, I didn't any drought orders had been issued in the UK yet. I know that a lot of places (including where I am) fall under the hosepipe ban and stuff, but that doesn't stop you from washing the car like a full monty drought order.

I have seen our next door neighbour watering his garden and rinising his car with the hose a few times. I mentioned to him its taking the piss a bit when everyone is not doing so, but he carried on. Yesterday he was doing it again so I went and said 'Do you hear about the bloke in the village who got grassed up for using a hosepipe on his garden and was fined a grand?'. 'No' came a rather worried reply. So I suggested that if he stopped using it, and asked his annoyingly squealy noisy child to quiten down for at least half the afternoon, I wouldn't be the one to grass him up.

Worked too! The kid was told it could only make noise for half an hour!

I'm led to belive that pressure washers use less water than a hose pipe.

So you could claim you're saving the planet by using a pressure washer instead of a hose, although watering the plants with one might not be a good idea!

Interestingly my pressure washer has a sticker on the top with a picture of a dog with a red cross through it! :)

Mine got cleaned for the first time in ages the other week.. when the dealer serviced it.
Living in a flat in london with no garage and no tap for a hosepipe (even if the ban wasn't in place) means as soon as I clean it using bucket/spong or carwash, it gets birds crap or dust/sand covering it again quickly. Used it yesterday and its back to how it was before it got serviced about a week ago. Luckily platinum seems to hide the dirt.

Oh to answer the orig question.. no way would I clean my car at midnight. LOL
