passenger window

I was driving home today and tried to put the passenger window back up. It made a dodgy metallic noise and the window dropped into the door. I got the breakdown to come and secure it and he said the metal cable had snapped which winds up the window. Is this part of the motor or is it separate? How much is it likely to cost?

£100 for regulator from the dealers and fit it yourself or get stung another £60+v.a.t ontop of the part, search there loads about windows mate common fault unfortunatly

had a look at that one and its for the newer model. can't seem to find one to fit my mk3

my drivers side went on my old 1.4 an i got a 2nd hand one for £40 an fitted it myself, its only a few bolts to fit them so its easily done yourself
