Any one knows what could be the problem ? front passanger door doesn't lock. All other and boot are fine. The light inside the car stays on even when engine's on. I thought it's obvious - lock's gone. But I took it to a local garage and they reset ecu and everything was fine... for few weeks. Now it doesn't lock again and it's obviously a big problem :/ Any one had something like that ? thanks

So if you lock the doors does your interior light go off? If not have you checked its on the right setting ie level cause if its pushed to one side its on permenant.

Does the door in question close properly and feel right when you open the handle? Like you here the latching sound?

When you press the key to unlock of lock does any sound come for this door?

Can't even take a stab at it unless I know those. I've had various locking problems on cars in the past . one was the latch that locks the door in palce had sheared off somehow. So the electronics were all fine and seemingly doing their job..it was the mecahnical side that wasn't.

Take it in the dealer and get them to strip the door down to see if the lock mechanism is funcitonal.. messing about with electronics is just a way of looking like they are doing something.

When I start the engine interior light's still on, even though all doors are closed. Door closes properly and there is no funny sound or nothing. When I lock/unlock the car there is no sound from that door. Funny enough window doesn't work in that door as well but speaker works fine. The lock light comes on when I lock the car so wires seem to be 'live'... pretty strange thing. I thought because I have lambo doors fit maybe some wires snapped but it looks like that's not the case. I'm gonna drop the car off to dealer tomorrow and hope it's nothing major (labour is something like £110/h :O)

Yeah I was going to say have you modified anything... answer is clearly yes. Whoever installed the doors perhaps needs to be questioned? If you did it yourself I assume you must be pretty handy with tools so maybe go back and just check. There are a number of seperate cables in the doors and sounds like one may well have come loose. Good luck.

I'd bet it's a dodgy microswitch in the lock. Had something like this with a Passat - Take a look at http://www.taligentx.com/passat/maintenance/doorlockmechanism/ for the general idea of what the locking mechanism looks like and where the microswitch are. The Leon will no doubt be different the principle will be the same.

Alternatively, it might be that the door isn't latching correctly to activate the microswitch. With the door open, use a screwdriver and press the latch in the door. There should be two stages, make sure it goes to the second stage and see what the interior light does. If it doesn't do anything then it's likely to be the switch.

Remember to pull the handle to release the latch before you try closing the door

Door were fitted about 2 years ago and everything was fine till just before Christmas. I didn't fit them myself but I stripped the door last weekend to see if any cable snapped. Everything looked ok but I noticed that they the cables have been cut and than connetced together. I assume they couldn't fit the inges without disconnecting the cables. If I would know it will couse me problems I would never do it. Apart of looking quite cool (for some at least) it's just a hassle. Anyway I thing it cables might be snapped somewhere futher down... and I hope it's just a cable ;/
