I am thinking about getting some aftermarket ones for my Lcr but not sure how it will go with the shape of the bumper. Does anyone have any pics of them fitted or any experiences of them, good or bad.

Thanks.

Hmm I prefer the second option as spoiling the look of my bumper is what put me off. Can't see a price for it tho. I have been paranoid about reversing since I scuffed mine parking and. The gf is getting cheeses off about being sent to the back of the car whenever I park now lol.

Here's my Toledo with them fitted, might give you a rough idea for the Leon?

Never had them before on any previous cars, but I do find them really useful for tight space parking.

30 quid? For the strip ones that go behind the bumper? That seems cheap. I spoke with my local audio store today who quoted me 200 fitted for one eitherside of the numberplate jus for the rear. They looked crap aswell.

They do sound good for the money and I like the fact they're concealed. I would be slightly concerned that they don't beep when the car is stopped though. For instance, you're in the supermarket car park waiting to reverse out a space when a young child passes the rear of the car? As well as protecting my car I am also concerned with protecting what might be behind my car!

From how I understand it the sensors are active when you are in reverse moving or not. I too have encountered camakazie kids in car parks. Or more than likely parents that don't give a thought to where there kids are.

I have a set of x-vision sensors to fit in rear bumper waiting for a free sunday as I think there is a bar behind the bumper that may well need drilling? If I ever get round to doing it I will post some pics

Cheers Andy. I think I will have a crack at fitting one of these myself. I wouldn't have thought the crash bar needed drilling tho as it might weaken it. I think this sensor strip is the way forward for me if I can figure out how to get bumpers off.

From the link Lee gave the guy that fitted them quoted:-

UPDATE TIME!!!! delivered on thursday and fitted today, took a couple of hours mainly cause I was being very careful removing the rear bumper, gave up with softly softly and bingo, off it popped! fitting was a doddle after that. the strip is stuck to the inside of the bumper pretty much where the ultrasonic sensors go, It was pretty much the only place it could go. they work a treat, but, as unreal said the beeps stops when you do, but as long as your moving it continues to beep and for 35 quid delivered without the need for drilling your bumper I'd recommend them to anyone! heres the site again.

That was what I was basing my information on unless there is something to the contrary?
