Hi all,

Need help to pickup a feed from REVERSING Lamp, cant find the Switch (looked all around the gear shift linkage) and the reverse light is in the tailgate so trying to get a feed from there would be a nightmare!

Any ideas where to pick a feed from, as I had the unit on my wifes Altea (connected into reverse lamp connector) and it worked brilliant...

Car is a 07 Leon FR TDi with 6 speed manual gearbox

Help appriciated.

I would assume that the wiring on your Fr is the same as on my K1

I've just had some reversing sensors fitted.
The installer picked up the feed for the sensors from around the top left hinge of the boot lid.

I'll try to describe where.....
As you look at the back of the car with the hatchback open.
Top left is the hinge for the boot lid.
Just in there (or even slightly under it) is the wiring loom that runs to inside of the bootlid.
He picked up the feed for the reversing light in there.
He bared 2 wires and soldered the feed for the sensors to those.
I wouldn't know what wires he took the feed from though
I think it was a yellow and a grey cable but that is only a thought.
Obviously a multi-meter would tell you which ones are correct.

Sorry for being a bit vague but I'm nowhere near my car to take a look.

PS.
Oh we also found (after some initial head scratching) that the reversing light does not actually come on with the bootlid open.
Make sure the boot is either shut or the catch is engaged...
as in making like the boot is closed by sticking a screwdriver in the catch to emulate the boot closing.
HTH

thanks cfcmick!

I guessed as much but not sure that I can get estra wire in with that lot!
did he run them down the left inner wing to where the left side rear light cluster is? as that is where I have wired the sensors to and where I will put the control box.

Thanks for the tip on the boot lid switch thing!

Yes I believe he did run them down there on the left hand side rear inner wing.
I think he had the whole interior trim off the inside rear passenger side quarter panel, and fed them through there.

Must admit I didn't look too closely especially when he was drilling holes in my nice new bumper

Good luck anyway.
Definately worth having the rear sensors :D
