Painting Interior Door Trims

Hi. I want to tart up my boring grey interior door trim panels by painting them black (silk) on my MK3 but I am just wondering if anyone knows the best way to do the upholstery part on the door trim to black?

Also I remember painting a dash on one of my old ford escorts once and I used some brush on Holt's bumper and plastic trim paint, got a really good finish but for some reason it never ever properly dried and had a slightly 'tacky feel' to it when touched. Anyone know what a good alternative brush on paint to do my Ibiza dash that will dry fully?

Thanks,

Andy.

I've just repainted my interior door handle surrounds as they were all scratched (common problem). Used halfords flexible interior paint and got a really nice almost factory finish, exactly what i wanted. Had to make sure the handles were very well rubbed down as I tried to spray over the original finish and the paint reacted badly.

I'll get pics up 2moro

Thanks, I shall have a look in my local halfords for that paint. When you say rubbed them down did you mean by sandpaper? - The original finish is quite weird isn't it, its some kind of wax on top of the handles or some kind of rubber feel to them.

I was going to post a similar question to this but it seems to have been mentioned before. My interior door handle surrounds have scratched quite badly - does anyone sell replacement ones in perhaps a metallic/metal/chrome finish??

If not i will prob have a go at rubbing them down and respraying them.

Not that I have heard of or seen before but it would be a great add-on/accessory to get though if it were on the market.
