Does anyone use any special paints/laquer for painting the 3 plastic engine covers or are normal Halfords spray cans ok. Bit concerned they will react to the heat.

id suggest going over with heat resistant paint first then give a few coats of the colour you want then clear laquer

use plastic cleaner to get the crap off then use plastic primer so the top coat does not crack when flexed and then just paint as normal and laquer did mine same coulor as body 2 years ago and still looks like new ..you can get all the stuff from local body supliers i used hex holdings for all mine and got the top mixed by them as well :D

Superglue won't melt? I don't want a fire in the bay with all that paint and laquer. I have noticed a run on the engine cover now I have finished it but can't be sears to re sand

oops, try no nails then or sticks like sh*t from screwfix, it really does exactly what is says on the tube! dont get it on your fingers as its a bugger to remove/wear off - i have the t-shirt lol!

tbh, most bonding materials will do the job as the cover wont get that hot
