Hi Folks,

About 6 weeks ago, when the engine is cold, soon after setting off and at about 45 mph/1600 rpm the car would go into limp mode with flashing glow plug lamp.

Switching off and then back on cleared the problem and car ran fine with no problem for a few days.

I connected my ODB Eleven to read the code P164B00 Oil Pressure Sensor Malfunction - Static.

I ran it into the dealer for a full check using pressure gauge etc. - which came back all good as I wanted to make sure there were no other issues - oil pump etc. etc.

They replaced the Oil Pressure Sensor - F1 and also the Oil Pressure Control Valve - N428.

So far no return of the fault.

Hopefully folks find this useful if they suffer the same issue.

Neil.

Thanks for sharing. Having recently replaced my fuel rail pressure sensor, it was quite pleasant to be able to do it without removing half of the engine.

Where is the oil pressure sensor located? Just in case!
