Hi all, thought Id post some pic's of my new LCR, so don't be shy let me know what you think.

History:
Use to have VW polo and was member of Clubpolo, who seem at the moment to be moving this way. Was a 1.4 8v 6n which i managed to get quite good gains out of (30% up on std, rr proven at 77BHP). Girlfriend and I however bought an Audi 2.0t A3 quattro s-line together and i decided after driving that, that I wanted in on forced induction. I sold Polo in Nov 08, and bought a car i absolutely hated and wouldn't want to touch in any way, a 1.6 Feista Zetec. Part exchanged that for 03' LCR which cost me £4750, with 98k on clock. Full sevice history, mainly Seat, with 50K motorway miles done in 1st 2 yrs. Checked car over and have to say was in very good nick. No rust or dents, Paint in good shape (with exception of chips on bonnet from M'way mile) alloys in good condition along with interior and a very egar engine that pull extremely well. Plugged in Vagcom, and no issues at all

Plans for Future:
1st off get it back to former glory
Full Service
New tyres
Give paint back its shine as well as sorting out chips.
Redo Brembos

Then, time to play.
Uprate Brakes ( prob braided lines, Redstuff pads and New discs)
Forge 007p
TIP
Work over Engine bay ( silicon pipes, polished charge pipe etc)
Possible chip

Nice car bud, looks a bit familiar, lol

The red stuff pads are in no way an upgrade from the OEM pads let alone the other recommended after market ones.
Basically
If you just want a better more fade resistant set up go for
EBC plain discs Eliptically grooved by Bill (Badger 5) ~£230
Ferodo DS2500 pads £95
3 bottles of RBF600 brake fluid £10 per bottle
Along with braided lines ~£50

You could also have EBC Ultimax discs for ~£230
Or OEM brembo ones for about the same, I think.

For a proper upgrade your looking at 330mm 2 piece discs with all the bits and pieces for ~ £600
This will amaze your friends.

hope this helps

The only reason I say Redsuff pads is because thats is what I've got currently on my 2.0T quattro A3 and they've made a huge difference. more feel, less fade, stronger braking and seeing as the a3 and LCR are bout 200+BHP and all come from the same family, it seem like a logical move for me. That and I've always been a fan of EBC, but i'll have a look in to what Badger 5 does.

As for the 330mm upgrade, this sounds very interesting. if only i had friends to impress
Where can i find more info on this? ( the setup, not the friends)

I have a review on my readers rides thread on these
These are 3Kgs lighter than the 1 piece ones with better cooling
But 100% you will not be disappointed.
Friends or no friends, lol

I'll keep my eye out for you as you are 'local'! Good to see you returning it to it's former glory.

Was the grille kit on your old Polo an RS4 look a likey?!

I am indeed, been practicing with a circular polisher adn it already looks better although i'm sure i can improve on it. I'll probably give it another bash after winter, and after teh gritters have been out.in mean time I may play under bonnet a bit

Where about are you then?

Yea it was. It was like Marmite some loved it some hated it. the plus side was i could alway find my ca at the car meets as it didn't merge in to the sea of euro'd 6n's. I also think i got some of the best gains of of a 1.4 8v so it was all good

LCR is back

Well after having to put up with a naff 1.4 Astra as i hire care for the last month and a half, I have finally got my LCR back, and oh how I missed it.

£2500+ worth of repairs after some Muppet in a left lane tried to go right and drove straight in to side of me. Literally, didn’t brake, didn’t swerve and then had check to say “did you not see me signalling?” Well mate, you were in wrong lane, didn’t check you mirrors before signalling, and judging by the way the whole passenger side of my car is damaged and only the front right corner of your car is, didn’t see me when I was in front of you. Luckily missus who’s a copper was in car, so when he kicked off, she flashed her warrant card, and he soon backed down and admitted liability.

Anyway, my baby’s back, and what a way to start X-mas!!

I'll get pics up later
