Probably the wrong section - Sorry if it is! this isnt a sale post just a bit of helpful advice really

My bro is looking to sell his P Reg 16v GTI, its done 106k Miles, full leather interior with some service history! (I know hes a fool!) Induction kit, new exhaust fitted. Anyone give me a rough price of what it could be worth, got a few minor knocks here n there a fairly nasty one on the bonnet where a roof tile fell off n hit his car! Its that nice metallic blue, unsure what its called. Anywho any response would be gratefully received.

Closest book price on Glass's I could find was a 99 S GTi 16v - PX price is £560 excellent condition, £490 average condition and £415 below average - I'd guess private sale looking at £450-£550

That's what's going to bring the price down - not sure how much it'd cost to pull out (if it can be) and make good as you might improve the price slightly, but it may not be economically viable to do so - may be something to look into

I'd ebay it, if you get £500+ you've done well, great cars, but practically worthless in that condition when you can pick up good condition ones £800+

I've just tried to shift a Y reg Mondeo on eBay - knackered clutch, wheel bearing and drivers seat but pretty sound body, interior and engine otherwise - made £185 on an auction but the bloke never got in contact so waiting for the non paying bidder stuff to go through before I do a 2nd chance offer ... second thing I've sold in a row where the winning bidder never got in touch or paid

if i could get insured id buy it but im patiently waiting for at least a years no claims
should get 500 maybe 600 depends how bad it is
get pics and people will have a better idea
