Im on the case of my major fuel consuming 1.2, my mate says i should consider replacing the oxygen sensor and maybe the mass air flow sensor aswell incase they are not reading correctly and overfueling the car when not on full throttle, anyone know if the beezas have 1 or 2 oxygen sensors? i know my mates mini has 2 but he said it can vary from car to car,

anyone else done this and seen a difference?

Note i have removed the induction kit but scangauge says im getting 23MPG im gonna cry.

I have never known a 1.2 to be this bad. and for a car thats done only arpund 35000 miles and is 2002 i dno where ive went wrong.

Hi,

The 1.2 12v's have two Lambda sensors. Obviously one before the catalytic converter and one after. The pre-cat lambda is the 'fueling' probe and the post-cat sensor a catalytic monitor.

The intake air is measured by a combined MAP/Temperature sensor called a thrust sensor, this is located on the left hand side of the intake manifold.

All three are easy enough to get to and change, just a little bit pricey to change on a hunch.

Have you had it scanned for fault codes??

Regards,

There are two O2 sensors. Ive also heard that a faulty temerature sensor or thermostat could cause more fuel to be used.
