Hi all,
My EML came on this weekend and the below is the VCDS readout:
_____________________________________________
1 Fault Found
008598 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S1
P2196 - 000 - Signal too High (Rich) - MIL ON
Freeze Frame:
Fault Status: 11100000
Fault Priority: 2
Fault Frequency: 3
Mileage: ******* km
Time Indication: 0
Date: 2014.14.12
Time: 08:17:13
Freeze Frame:
RPM: 2714 /min
Speed: 119.0 km/h
Lambda: 56.8 %
Mass Air / Rev.: 565.0 mg/str
Voltage: 0.675 V
(no units): 16.0
Voltage: 0.975 V
Readiness: 1 1 0 0 0
_____________________________________________
There are no other faults and I've never had this happen before.
I've done some reading on various forums from when people have had the same fault code, but not really found an answer. Also - from looking at their readouts, the "Lambda" percentage (in red) on mine seems VERY high (albeit I've no idea what that percentage means), and the fact it's happened 3 times in 2 days suggests it isn't an anomaly.
The car drives the same as it did before, and still pulls like "***t off a shovel" so-to-speak.
I don't know why it's given a totally random time/date for the fault.
Can anybody advise what this all actually means?
Is it going to be a case of "new sensor needed", or something else?
Thanks!
