Ive got My ibiza 1,6 TDI remapped to 140 hp and 340 nm. And its pretty Lively..

HOWEVER im looking to bring in those 10-20 HP extra.

How can i Achieve this AND is it recommendable?. I Mean it is afterall just a 1,6 and dont want to completely rape it.

I Was considdering a Milltek exhaust, and or larger turbo..

Anyone has thoughts about this?

Do you mean you have your 1.6 TDI remapped to 140bhp? That's quite a good power figure especially the torque. What mods have you done? I think you'd be hard pressed to squeeze another 20bhp from it though, nobody has really installed a bigger turbo onto one of these engines but you could always be the first (on here anyway). There was some talk of Revo releasing a stage 2 file a while back which needed a larger Intercooler and exhaust system but I don't know if they officially released it. It might not be an option but you could always upgrade to the 2.0 TDI FR model, tuned versions of those engines can make over 200 horsepower with 300+ ft lbs of torque! Let us know how you get on. You could always speak to Darkside Developments if your based in the UK. They specialise in tuning VAG diesels. All the best.

Egr delete and dpf delete might get you your 20 or more bhp and a straight through exhaust would help it aswell, there was talk that you could fit the PD140 injectors to the 1.6 tdi but I've only seen that once or twice on the vw forums

Yeah Sorry, My phone suck :) only mods is the remap and EGR delete.. :)

The 2,0 fr is not an option, as the tax on cars in Denmark is immense! I would need to spend like 37-40,000 pounds which is above my paygrade :)

Im finding it really hard to fibd tuning parts for the 1,6 though.. but recently had talks with a dealer who said he'd develop a new turbo and put new injectors in it.. but thatll easyli be 4000 pounds for it.. :)

It's what makes your tax so cheap a year, it should make a difference as the exhaust gasses won't be restricted but it does mean it can be a bit smokey at times, google it and it should show some stats then, I suppose if you wanted to do a DPF delete then a full stainless system would be a better option, I know parts are hard to find but I don't know if they sell a hybrid turbo for the 1.6 tdi but it's worth a try

Oh yeah..

performance filters is a dud or do they give anything bhp wise? :)

Come filters are pointless for a diesel the k&n panel filter is better wouldn't say there's a noticeable gain in performance but when your paying £15 for an air filter every two years it makes since to pay the £50 for the k&n and just clean it out every two years, you could bye the cupra front lights from a breakers or something find one on eBay rear end smash, or you could buy projectors and HIDS and do it yourself, I know it wouldn't have the black back but still would look good

Well here the air filter is 50£ and the KN system filter for the original box is 50£ :)
The performance kn filter is 300£ lol

the thing with the cupra headlights is, id need wiskers and auto adjustable height, not to mention the xenon bulbs which would be well over 2000£ in my country :(

the projector idea :) im affraid youd have to clarify since im kinda newbie just yet :)

But im very gratefull for the help

I'd look at uprating the air intake/cooling side of things. As i recall revo decided to keep the 1.6tdi remap for the ibiza/polo/fabia at 130bhp rather than the 140bhp map used in the golf/leon/a3 because the smaller cars don't have adequate airflow and cooling to maintain 140bhp safely long term given the higher temps involved in generating 140bhp.
It might give you a few more bhp but will importantly give your engine a longer lifespan.

Oh I forgot to mention!!

I seem to suffer considderable power loss at high humid temperatures.. Feels like I lose around 20-30 bhp.. :/

Can this be caused by the engine not taking in enough cool air?

By high temp. I mean like 20-25 degrees C.

Ive talked to a tech now, saying they can fit a larger turbo to my car, it should give around 180 bhp.

My main concern is, will the larger torque wear too much on the engine?

Dont want a trashed engine after 1 year

In normal conditions its cheaper and better in many ways to go out and buy a car with a bigger/more powerful engine. If you upgrade the engine output next thing is that you have to strengthen the clutch, gearbox and driveshafts and also better brakes etc. In most cases its just easier and cheaper to buy a car with the horsepower that you need than upgrade the old one.
