Onvi Yellow - Prone to fading??

Hi all
We have an Ibiza Sport in Onvi (2000)
Car has been reguarly and well cleaned, usually weekly, and polished every couple of months. However, the yellow has faded on some panels not others. I would understand if it was the bumpers/fuel cap that had faded against the metal parts of the car, but it seems to be the bonnet and doors that are a lighter shade to the wings and rear quarters. Bumpers and plastic bits are all perfect. And before someone mentions it, I can assure you this car has not been involved in an accident or had panels replaced or any paintwork.
Its not a problem, will be T cutting and polishing it soon, but just wondering if it was a common issue with Onvi Yellow, and I presume it is down to the fact that it is a light, flat, non metallic colour?

Funny how you don't mention this in your advert in the for sale section.... :p

Seriously though, all Seat paint is pants. The fuel filler cover is clearly a different colour to the rest of my LCR, and the bumper paint is almost see-through.... :(

bit harsh NeilW, give the guy a break.

Ovni is renowed for fading, few guys on here I know with Ovni Ibiza's suffer from it. I would imagine you could improve it by using a PC (porter cable) polisher and something like SSR2-2.5 (poorboys cutting polish). If you go on www.detailingworld.co.uk there is a section for people with a PC who would be able to have a go for you. Also there are a few members on here with them so you might get lucky and have one living close by.

I'm the other end of the country otherwise I'd have offered to give it a go.

Apologies, didn't mean it to sound nasty; just I read the for sale post first and thought it was a nice looking car. Then read the faded paint post afterwards and couldn't resist .... No offence intended. :)

Lol I can take a bit of banter so no offence taken guys.
Neil, if you want to carry on the banter I could point out that the numerous huge pictures from all angles as well as pointing out that the ad states that its soon to be t-cut and polished hehe :p
Eitherway, its a minor issue that can be sorted so it will be sorted before its sold, and it doesnt really effect the lovely condition this car is in anyway. Paintwork itself is mint, no chipping, no thin paint, no issues (especially considering it is a 6 year old daily driven car)
Oh well, another weekend of elbow grease for me! A mate of mine is a valeter so if I cant get it perfect I will get him to have a go on it with his special mixtures.

:) no worries mate, I didn't mean to snap it's just I see comments on other forums when people are trying to sell a car (me in the past) and all people can do is pick fault.

Has anyone tried PCing an Ovni by the way??

Cheers mate. I really can't control the sarcasm sometimes. Car looks very nice by the way. I've shown it to the missus as she is after one (provided she can sell the CTR).

No amount of PC'ing improved the colour of the roof on my car.

The plastics are a few shades darker then the top half of the car and the boot. Everything from below the windows is perfect it's a nightmare.

Mine will be sprayed, currently trying to make my mind up which yellow to use. I'd love to use a ferrari paint, but have no idea how much that would add the already quite high cost of having a car resprayed.

Neil, shame about the timing, I was considering a CTR a while back but its off the cards at the moment until I get some money saved, otherwise I might of mentioned a P/X offer. A CTR is def on the list for some point in the future.
A mate has said that yellow cars can be a pig to prep the paint, but he thinks he can get it back to as new again if my forthcoming weekend effort doesnt.
