hello everyone recently the car started playing up by not starting when it was cold, firstly searched her thought it was the CTS (coolant temp sensor) so changed that no change, then got vag com on and the guy said it was my battery, one new battery later no change, finaly came to the conclusion the immobiliser was not reading the chip in the key properly has any one had this problem before, any fix's? rang up the dealer and he said i need to buy the whole ignition which i dont need
cheers people

wouldn't re programming the key be a good first try???? Rather than shelling out for a whole ignition???

I'd just fault code scan the instruments... I bet they just need syncing to the ECU again.
