Old Leon multichanger in New Leon?

Hi all, just joined!

I've driven a Leon S 1.9TDI for the past 5 years and just this week have ordered a new Leon Stylance 1.9TDI which will be with me in 2-3 weeks.

Just a question I hope someone can help me with....

I have the Seat fitted multichanger in my current Leon. Can I take this out and fit it to my new Leon? i.e. is it still compatible with the new head unit? Also, where does it go nowadays when it's not in the glovebox any more? Boot? Is there a cable already there that just needs plugged in?

Any assistance would be most welcome as I'd be delighted to not have to splash out another 200 odd quid on a new one :)

Thanks,
PaulM

OK, so I've got the new car, and I have the autochanger from the old car. I haven't bought the fitting kit as of yet, but I checked under both front seats and didn't spot the cable the autochanger plugs into.

Can anyone tell me if this is there by default in the new leon, and if so, whereabouts I can find the end of it?

Thanks, Paul.

As mention in the fitting kit, contents include the "loom" so i would expect you to have to run the cable from under the seat to the back of your head unit.

Thanks for this - didn't know that "loom" meant "cable"!

Cheers, Paul.

Your welcome:D

I'm looking to get an IPOD and try and connect into the back of my head unit so i can use the steering wheel controls to change tracks, volume etc. I have searched the net and know it can be done for the mk1 Leon and don't see why it can't be fitted for the new one. Has anyone else tried this??

I'm trying to find out the same info for fitting a Phatnoise to the new Leon instead of my old autochanger. Reckoned I'd get the autochanger going, and if that's OK, I'd try the Phatnoise!

SEAT has launched a range of adaptors, one of which is suitable for the New Leon, Toledo & Altea.

See: http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=79824&highlight=ipod for a little more info...

Hope this helps...

Oh and the CD changer has to go under the drivers seat...

Anyone fitted this ipod connector to the new Leon?

If so how did it go and how much information is shown on the radio, do the wheel controls work?

Any idea how I get the cable from the head unit to the base of the seat? I've had a quick peek and there are a couple of small cables that go into the seat from a panel near the door sill and there are a few areas where the carpet is pre-cut but I assume I need to get the radio out somehow and then remove the centre console plastic to lay the cable underneath?
