oil pressure gauge help please

right fitted my oil pressure gauge and for some reason the needle flies straight up to 100 and then flicks around all over the place i havent had much of a chance to try and solve this problem so thought i would see if you guys have got any advise for me.

Does this happen only when you turn the ignition/engine on? does it settle afterwards?

it happens when engine is on when i reved it the neddle went crazy .

sounds like a possible bad earth connection to me. where have you earthed it to? usually, going by the instructions, they prefer that you earth it to the engine rather than the body for some reason.....
