Oil pressure 1.6AZD engine?

Q1
I keep having the oil warning light flash up and beep three times, it seemsto happen after 30mins of driving. The manuel says it's oil pressure. The cars running fine no noises etc, I have a mate that can check the pressure but does anyone know what figure it should be Reading?

If this is not the case I believe it could be the oil pressure sensor, if so how many sensor are there?

I have checked and double checked the oil level and it's been fine everytime, the engines 1.6 AZD engine type.

Is this the red light on the temp gauge you are talking about? Check your oil level first to be safe; and then open your coolant header tank, scrape the crap off the sensor prongs and refit the cap. This light also flashes and beeps three times for low coolant (or because the sensors are pants)! mine does it every other day!

Or if it is the one in the centre of the dash it might be that the oil pick up gauze is blocked.

It definatley the oil light!

I just checked AutoData for 1.6 AEH and AKL engines, don't have AZD as it is only up to 2004 AutoData, but they both have oil pressure of 2.0 bar at 2000rpm. I assume the AZD engine would be the same if that helps.

AZD has a single 0.3 bar oil pressure switch.

As Seat Adam guessed, oil pressure should be at least 2.0 bar at 2000 rpm.

AZD was fitted for 2001-2002.
