Got in my car this morning to go to work and my oil service light came on on my dash. checked the oil level, was fine, but stuck a bit more in to be safe. didnt make any difference, still flashed 'oil' whenever i start my car.

anyone got any ideas?? is it in need of an oil change??

if it is an oil change, doesnt this get done at the 10k service??? as i had my 10k service approx 6/7 weeks ago at my local dealership. if so, am gonna have a word with them tomoro as i am not happy if this is the case as i spent approx £180 getting it services for them not to do it all! That flashed up on mine, and i just re-set it myself.

I checked my levels and they were fine too.

I had just had my service done aswell.

Oh thats just the service indicator, not the proper oil light that shuts your engine off if it thinks your low on oil.

The reset procedure for that is in the manual, and its a piece of pee.

my car was serviced approx 6/7 weeks ago now....had its 10K service done

this is why i thought they hadnt changed the oil...presuming this is what they do as part of the 10k service!

Garage didn't reset the indicator when it was serviced. Should have been done.

There are instructions on how to do it if you do a search. Hint - to do with the trip mileage button. ;)

Something like:-
1. Turn on ignition (without starting engine)
2. Hold trip button in
3. Turn off ignition
4. Turn on ignition
5. Wait till ---- appears on display
6. Release trip
7. Turn trip to right (ie clockwise I assume)
Haven't needed to do it, so can't say if it works, but that's supposed to work:)
