Hi all, i am new to this site so have not posted before, have a couple of questions regarding a 2003 130tdi sport that my partner has just purchased. I should say that i have owned a couple of these cars myself in the past. Right first question when the ignition is turned on you have the normal lights come up on the dash but the oil warning light goes out before the car is started surely this should not go out till some oil pressure is present via oil pump being turned by engine? Second question the car comes with the yellow instrument dial surrounds are there any chrome ones available from anywhere or do i have to buy the black ones from Seat. Would be gratefull for any replies.

Cheers Dezi130.

Hi dezi

Give it a little while, you might grow to like the yellow dials, I did !

Which colour car have you got, blue or yellow ? Mine was Eclipse Blue and I thought the yellow looked OK against the blue...

Hi Muddyboots, yes car is Extreme blue 5door with just 17000 miles on the clock an early 2003. The later ones have bits missing as we all know and we wanted the long gearing we have been looking for quite some time for a low milege example. The car was purchased from Coupers a Seat dealer in St Albans some distance from Worthing West Sussex where we live but was worth it. The yellow dial rings will be changed for chrome ones to match the interior chrome pack that i will be purchasing shortly had this on my sport that i owed in 2003. Still not sure which oil i will be using yet castrol edge???? or just the main dealer oil may visit my local one on saturday.

Find yourself a Millers stockoist and buy some Millers XFE-PD, which is 505.01 approved and only about £27 for 5 litres.
Go here: http://www.millersoils.net/index2.html and click on "Stockist Search".

Well done on finding an 03 TDI130 with only 17k miles, bet there's not that many with so few miles on. I sold my 03 TDI Sport at the start of this year with 80k on it :)

Thanks muddyboots, yes an excellent choice seeing that a lot of my compadres on the rb5oc site use Millers in there cars and the fact that Millers do the XFE-PD oil, my local car shop have it for £27. I was in Halfords this morning, they had Castrol edge 5w-40 for £37 for 4L and 5w-30 is £43 for 4L, so i will go with Millers as i intend to change the oil on a regular basis. While i was in Halfords i bought 2 Halfords super brilliance head light bulbs for the ibiza on a buy 1 get 1 free so they were only £20 instead of £40. These were best buy in this weeks Auto express. Hopefully will go to Seat on Monday to order the chrome packs for the car, always a challenge fitting these watch this space.

Cheers Dezi.
