Oil for PD130 seems too cheap

I have just ordered through work some oil for my leon as the oil light came on (lets hope it is not a serious problem)
I got 5lt of Comma fully synthetic VW505.01 spec oil for £22.34 inc VAT and they even dropped it off for me at work.

I was expecting to pay well over £40ish, is this just crap oil ???

On a side note my car has never used oil in the 30K I have had it, to be honest no really checked it too often as it never used any oil. Last night the light came on and the level is just below the hash marking on the dip stick. Could this be a sign of a problem or is it due to me making some quiet long motorway runs (10k in six months)

thanks

Sully

I pay about £24-£25 for millers XFE-PD stuff which is the same essentially. Not too cheap really, and my car runs well on this "cheap" oil I get.

I can't comment on the oil light - perhaps it was slightly underfilled at the last service and has since burned a little bit, setting off the light.

The PD oil we sell at work is £20+VAT retail, but thats for a 4L can. The prices are coming down as the cars get older.

506.01 oil is ridiculous, we sell that at £40+VAT for 4L :(
