"OIL" display going off?

mr_claypole

may the farce be with you
Hi All,

I started the cupra up this morning (mk4, 1.8t 180bhp) and noticed the "oil" word in the display on the speedo. got to work (literally 5 mins down the road later), checked the oil level and discovered it was low.

went out at lunch and got some oil for it, topped her up, checked the level, but the OIL word is still on the display.

Q. is this supposed to go out after you top her up, or do I need to take her to have her innards reset?

Thanks in advance.

MRC.

Switch off ignition.
Keep “Reset” button on distance counter pressed.
Connect ignition with the “Reset” button pressed. The fixed mode
display appears.
Release the reset button and rotate it to the right. The display will return
to the normal mode. The indication has been reset.

According to the manual

When it says oil on the display you are due an oil change which you can do yourself.....and then reset the display as explained in the above post:whistle:
