All my previous cars I've ignored the oil change recommendation and done 5k mile oil change regardless.
Here in Portugal with summer temp high 30s / low 40s I think it's even more important, thoughts people

To me, it depends on the grade of oil and the engine usage.

On my fatass diesels i tend to change oils and lubricant service every 5k to 6k miles. works out about every 7/8 months.

On the PHEV formentor, I am inclined to leave it till the light comes on... ~ a year and 12 - 15k miles.

I guess keep an eye on it and addressing issues as they come up? I am 2k miles into new oil here and it still looks delicious. 1.4L/PHEV that I drive in hybrid mode always. 5w30 Full Synth longlife, here in the UK.

Having said all this ...changing the oil frequently, using genuine filters and keeping a close eye on levels+content, is never a bad thing.
