...crap

Well after driving to petrol station tonight car was running sweet, ran in to get fags, got back in car and rubbish.

Car ran like crap on idle and running burbling like mad, smelt like burning fireworks and eggs (rotten ones)

So ran vag com and here is the outcome:

Address 01: Engine
Controller: 6K0 906 032 AB
Component: 1.8L20VTCUPRA R 0001
Coding: 11500
Shop #: WSC 00000
3 Faults Found:
16500 - Engine Coolant Temp. Sensor (G62): Implausible Signal
P0116 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent
16684 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected
P0300 - 35-00 - -
16686 - Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected
P0302 - 35-00 - -
Readiness: 0000 0000

I think the sensor is a different problem but anyone had misfire problem before? Lead and plugs or something else

Thanks

Mine was miss firing and it turned out to be the plugs after changing all the ruddy coilpacks!!

Get the coolant temp sensor changed though as this can cause some running issues also

Bit of a dumb question, where is the coolant sensor? Sorry had a look but can't see it

Also the last spark plug under the pipe do I have to remove that to get to it?

Thanks

Cleared the code then started it up and turned off and codes came back

Think a drive might do the trick?

i doubt it to be honest, seems like it could be a coilpack then on no.2 perhaps, could try a drive and see if it's still doing it.

Am i right in thinking that the cylinders are numbered funny i.e number 2 is not the 2nd one in?

If it not the 2nd one going left to right which is it?

As I might try changing the coil pack over and see if problem moves, can I get coil packs from GSF?

they are numbered 1-4 left to right, 4 being under the charge pipe, i think you can get them from gsf always gone main dealer myself.

Sorry to pinch your thread but does anybody have a part number on coolant temp sensor because mines gone. The gauge is going up then back down again and staying down when the engines warm. Cheers
