I have been told by a SEAT tech' that toe 2ltr PD with a particle filter HAS to use the extended sevice oil to stop the thing "gumming up" this was on a FReetrak , any advise gratefully' etc:headhurt:

Yes mate that is correct the 170bhp 2.0 TDI DPF engines need to use the Longlife engine oil in 5w30 grade and FULLY Synthetic.

I learned this the hard way as the original dealer I bought the car off used PD 5w30 SEMI Synthetic oil for the first two services, leading the the DPF clogging up with a greasy type substance.

The car then needed a new DPF filter and differential pressure sensor. This was all covered under warranty luckily and fixed by another dealer as my original dealer were total muppets :banned:

pheew that was Lucky hate to think what it would cost if you were paying:censored: what they know and what they do are often 2 different things but at least I know now, thanks:)
