ODB for Mk1 / 1L Toledo

I think I'm going crazy, I could have swore I found a OBD adapter on eBay on the suggestion from someone in this forum, now I can't find reference to either.

Please can someone tell me / show me where I can find an OBD interface (USB preferable) for my Toledo 1L / Mk1?

I found the access port, its 2 connectors hidden behind a panel (it is NOT a OBD2 with a single flat'ish connector).

Thanks :)

Is this any good? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2X2-Adapter-Cable-VAG-COM-to-OBD2-OBDII-2-plus-2-OBD_W0QQitemZ300270160593
Apologies if its not. This is all new to me, as I havent owned a car new enough to plug computers into before! :lol:
Incidentally, where is the access port on a toledo? I havent found it yet...:confused:

Oh you couldn't have hit the nail on the head better if tried :D I bought one of those exact units from that exact auction number about 48 hours ago, still waiting for it to be delivered, will let you all know if it works :)

The plug on the mark 2 is under the dash, somewhere around where the gearstick/centre console meet the bulkhead.

By the way, getting the cable would not be a problem, but where do you get the diagnosis software ?

For VAG cars (VW / Audi / Seat / Skoda / etc), VAG-COM seems to be the best, made by ROSS TECH. The software is shareware (the demo has limited functionality, but at the very least you can use it to get most diagnostic information plus fault codes, the real deal costs $100 US)

Although their site says ver. 409.1 isn't compatible with USB Serial interfaces, it works fine with the one purchased above.

You can download it from http://www.ross-tech.net/vag-com/download/1405/Release4091s.exe

Controllers / Modules I know work so far (at least for the 1L / Mark 1 running the 2x2 interface)

* Engine
* ABS
* Air Bags

There's a whole crapload more, and because it takes about 20 seconds to test each one I've not tested them all yet, but those are the major ones that seem to work.

What the software is really cool for (and you can do this in the demo) is live car telemetry plotted on a graph such as air intake temp, revs, wheel speed etc :)

I found it behind a removable switch cover just right of the steering column, you'll see a black and a white connector.
Found it! Just behind the switch blank beside the headlight switch! :cheers:

Thats the one :)

However, I've actually managed to break mine off, they're not as tough as I thought. What I've done is I've managed to get a 2x2 to OBD2 adapter cable connected to them and will just have to leave it permanently connected.

In other related news, I'm gonna try and develop a mac client, seems there isn't one, well at least none that work. Not sure if anyone else reading this is a mac user / owner?
