o2 sensor woes

After fitting a 100cel cat I had error codes about o2 sensor malfunction and internal resistance too high.
Assuming I had damaged it when removing from my old cat i replaced it, this time leaving the sensor out of the exhaust flow but in a water proof bag.
Now I still have the light on my dash and the internal resistance too high fault code is still constantly there and cant be cleared. Another code occasionally pops up regarding the sensor but I can't remember it off hand.
Any ideas as to what it could be?

It could be because your post sensor is not receiving the O2 value that is pre-determined in the ECU's setup, due to the 100 Cel CAT. You need to look into installing a spacer module or similar (like a "waynes O2 block" - although i fitted one of these and it did not work for me, but it works for others. Its still on my car now!) to try and trick the ECU into thinking all is ok.

I eventually had the post O2 sensor mapped out with my phase 2 map.

The post O2 (lambda) sensor has no effect on the running of the car, it is only there as a check for the pre.cat sensor.

Alternativly ask a local mapper how much they would charge to map it out for you. I think all they do is widen the 'span' of the sensor calibration value in the ECU so that it never goes out of limits.
