Not possible to remap Delphi ECU in post-2021 Ibiza 1.0 TSIs?

Hi - I have a post-facelift 2021 SEAT Ibiza FR 1.0 TSI (110). I was hoping to be able to get at least a Stage 1 remap for it down the line, but when I enquired about this with JBS, who seems to be well-regarded VAG performance specialists, they said "We know for sure the 2022 1.0 TSI uses a Delphi ecu and our research so far puts that same ECU on all the face-lift 1.0 TSI on this chassis (Polo/A1/Fabia).
The two main tools that we use haven't cracked the protocols yet to communicate with this ECU to be able to even get a read, as such we couldn't tune it."

And so in the case of my car: "may not be possible to do any kind of tuning, even stage 1."

If that's truly the case, then that's really disappointing, as I was hoping to get the engine up to 130 hp, at least, with a tune.

I do see some other companies offering ECU tuning for my era of Ibiza (e.g. JR Tuning), though suspect those are generic 1.0 TSI remaps and may only actually work with the older Bosch ECU unit.

Has anyone had any luck with getting a proper remap for a post 2021 facelift 1.0 TSI Ibiza? Has anyone been able to crack the Delphi ECU? I don't really want to have to resort to using a plug in tuning box, not sure I really trust what they do to the engine management.

What's your reg or VIN? We can take a look and see which ECU is installed and go fro

VIN: VSSZZZKJZNR026653

Engine Code: DLAA

Think the car was made in August or September 2021.

I get this information about the engine from ODBELEVEN:

The engine looks like this:

Does that help? If there's any more information that I can get from ODBELEVEN that might help, let me know! Thanks!

I'm not looking to completely hot rod the car, but if I can get another 20 HP/40NM of Torque or so out of it with a good stage 1 tune somehow, then would make me very happy.

This suggests it might be possible now, at least, to read and modify the Delphi ECU in modern VAG cars?: https://www.dfbtechnology.com/en/vag-delphi-dcm3-7-jtag-mode

"Now available in DFOX new JTAG driver for reading and writing the DELPHI DCM3.7 ECU mounted on the VAG cars. The connection is made much simpler than with the old JTAG+BOOT method as it is no longer necessary to open the ECU from the underside.

Possible operations are:

  • Complete reading Micro RENESAS R5F72543 + EEPROM
  • Writing Micro + EEPROM
  • Recovery
  • Checksum"

Not found anyone who has cracked the Delphi GCM 7.4 ECU yet, though think Autotuner are working on it. Not sure that it's possible to just swap out the ECU for the earlier Bosch one, though if it is, would be interested!
