Non starting 8v

Hi all, looking for some help or ideas regarding my 99 Gti 8v. I was having trouble starting the car so jumped it off my work van, end of story, or so i thought. When i next went to start the car nothing i tried to junp it again but with no success. I got the battery checked and that turned out to be screwed so replaced it hoping this would solve all, wrong! Now when i try to start the car it turns over fine but wont strike up and the oil light is continually flashing. I would greatfully appreciate any suggestions.

check the coil, the dizzy cap and arm and your ht leads, same thing happened to me about 3 months ago!

take the HT lead off the dizzy,and lie it on a bare metal area(such as rocker cover) get someone to turn the car over,if you get a good spark from the HT lead,then its not the coil or HT lead,if you get no spark,then its coil or HT lead.before you go and buy all of them try and narrow it down a bit
