Hi everyone,
I have been using this site for many months to research possible issues with my 2006 1.4 Ibiza, however still no success. If anyone can help with this issue I would be very thankful as my car will soon have to be sold as a non-starter.
Engine Management Light on dashboard - Diagnostic codes: P0685, P0686 (open/closed circuit or something)
I have tried: New starter motor, battery, power control relay and de-carboniser treatment (expensive! :/) and some basic rewiring.
Issue: The car will not spark however fuel and compression good - Mechanic recovers, gives an overnight charge then clears fault codes and the car would work perfectly for a few journeys.
A few days later with nothing abnormal, the car will not start and this process has been repeated for many months with components being changed and high mechanic bills adding up.
Now the car is still on driveway however the fault codes can not be cleared. I believe it may be the ECU which I am planning to send off for analysis this week, however it could possibly be the Crankshaft sensor, spark timing or a faulty wire somewhere in the car or any other component such as engine valve or another sensor. I am led to believe it is probably electrical as the voltage supply to the ECU was off however power control relay did not solve this and jump start is ineffective.
Please help as I am running out of money
