Worrying knocking noise on my Cupra TDi 150

Over the past couple of days I've noticed a strange knocking type noise coming from where I think the gearbox and clutch are.

It doesn't make the noise when under acceleration, only when coasting in any gear or stood at the lights when not in gear at all.

Any ideas?

Seems to be getting more noticeable now.

When in any gear under very slight acceleration at the very beginning of that gear ie, in 3rd at 20mph, 4th at 30mph, 5th at 40mph.

Please anyone any ideas?

Hmmm, clutch I would have thought, stick it in 6th and floor it at about 60mph, if it blows up, its your clutch.

Crap advice I know but, if it sounds terrible I would think its your clutch as 5th at 40 must be low in rev range which would put clutch at risk?

You generally pay for the labour with clutches, they are not that expensive.
If you need a new DMF then you might as well go for an uprated clutch for £700 all in, do you plan on modding?

No the DMF isnt normally cheap, but to be honest, should be replaced under warranty, it shouldnt do that till you develop real big power figures..

So get it down to Seat if you can?

Not sure if it'll be covered under warranty, it's an 04 plate and done over 110,000 lol.

My mechanic/autoelectrician's having a look sometime.
