No turn over

Hello all.
Sorry if this has been covered but i've searched extensively and can't see for looking. If it has been covered please post the link for me :) .
Car - Seat Ibiza 1.9 TDI 03 reg, 84k miles done.
Problem - Turn key and all lights work as normal, radio fine, doors fine, however there is nothing happening with the ignition. Doesnt even attempt to turn over. No warning lights stay on. It happens intermittently, sometimes will kick in out of the blue, but today i cannot get it going at all.

Maybe its an immobiliser issue but ive had the car nearly two years. Volts come up at 12 on the dash. I'm an absolute novice with cars. Has anybody had this problem before?

Any advice appreciated. Many thanks.

Check the wire going to the starter motor. It's a really common fault on these that it snaps off and causes the symptoms you've described.
